WHY HERNIA REOCCURS AGAIN & AGAIN

"WHY HERNIA REOCCURS  AGAIN & AGAIN”

a mesh, piece of synthetic cloth is stitched on weak spot to prevent recurrence. But this does not happen immediately after surgery because this mesh is delicate like a mosquito net. Then why it is stitched if it does not give protection? A foreign body reaction sets in and around the mesh and tissue penetrates in it to form a delicate curtain on the weak spot. This takes couple of months and then it takes another 2-3 years to get sufficient strength in it to give protection. It means the patient is not fully protected for 2-3 years in spite of mesh surgery. If patient gets an attack of cough or sneezing or some such other instance during this period then this mesh gets torn or stitches get torn or mesh moves away from the stitched place and relapse of hernia takes place. The low quality mesh shrinks by 50-60% in side the body. Naturally there is increased tension on the sutures due to this shrinkage that tend to break beyond certain limits inviting hernia recurrence. Almost 30 out 100 patients operated with mesh suffer either from recurrence, chronic groin pain, infection, migration etc. In "DESARDA REPAIR" no mesh is used and repair is done with a muscle strip. So protection is immediate and long lasting. Patient can drive car and go to office, can climb a staircase, can carry luggage and travel, squat and sit down without much pain within 2-3 days without fear of recurrence. Visit: www.desarda.com

Separate informed consent is required in mesh repair

INFORMED CONSENT IS REQUIRED FROM THE PATIENT BEFORE HERNIA SURGERY WITH MESH TO AVOID LEGAL SUITS IN FUTURE!!!

Mesh is widely used in hernia surgery all over the world. Many patients are not aware that it is a foreign body and they give general consent for surgery as advised by their doctor because of faith in him. Patient feels that the doctor would not do anything that is harmful to him. This faith is being used by the mesh manufacturing companies to market and sale their product at any cost without bothering much for the harmful consequences patient may face in future due to known foreign body complications. But now patients are becoming more and more aware from the internet that mesh is a foreign body, a simple piece of synthetic cloth naturally associated with many foreign body complications. So it is now necessary as prevention of future legal complications that every surgeon and the hospital should take an informed consent in writing that the mesh is a foreign body prepared of synthetic threads like cloth and may cause harm to him due to well-known foreign body complications. OTHERWISE,patient may file a legal suit against the surgeons or the hospital and may claim for huge damages!!! WEBSITE: desarda.com, EMAIL: desarda@hotmail.com

No Mesh Inguinal Hernia Repair in Italy by Desarda Technique

(UNIPI News 27.12.2018)
Hernia repair, an innovative technique in Pisa

Azienda ospedaliera universitaria pisana will be the first hospital in Italy to experiment with the innovative Desarda method for inguinal hernia repair, developed by Indian surgeon Mohan P. Desarda.
This alternative procedure does not use synthetic prostheses but a section of the external oblique muscle, separated and shaped, sutured to the inguinal ligament below and used as a reinforcement of the parietal defect, at the basis of hernia pathophysiology, without compromising the conjoint tendon.
In the General Surgery Section of AOUP, Doctor Francesco Porcelli, under the supervision of Professor Giulio Di Candio, has performed the first 13 operations using Desarda method.

A new method of inguinal hernia operations developed by Pune-based surgeon Dr Mohan Desarda is now being adopted by Sri Lanka. The technique will be used there as the first choice for the benefit of the patient.
Pioneer: Dr Mohan Desarda was invited to Sri Lanka to project his new theories that prevent hernia formation
A new method of inguinal hernia operations developed by Pune-based surgeon Dr Mohan Desarda is now being adopted by Sri Lanka. The technique will be used there as the first choice for the benefit of the patient.
The College of Surgeon of Sri Lanka, an apex body of the Sri Lankan surgeons, had recently invited Desarda to project his new theories that prevent hernia formation.
"The chances of recurrence are next to nil," he claimed. He also gave them a video demonstration of the new technique last month.
As a result of the lecture-demonstration, the Sri Lankan government can save millions of foreign currency spent on purchasing the mesh and treating its complication.
"No mesh is now required in this new method and it gives complete cure from hernia," said Desarda. In fact, no new foreign body is used in his new operation technique.
Home in 24 hrs
According to Desarda, the operation is conducted under local or spinal anesthesia and the patient can be discharged within 24 hours.
The patient can also carry luggage and travel, bend, squat or climb stairs soon. "Normally, the patient can drive within four days," he said.
Desarda's technique has also been adopted as a first choice in countries like Poland, Ukraine and Cuba.
Affordable to all "I did not patent the technique, as it should be affordable to the poorest of the poor in our country," said Desarda. In the last 10 years, he had operated over 4,500 cases of inguinal hernia cases in Pune alone.
